Maximum clean – Dettol products review

Dettol reviewI’ve always been a believer in the power of good old soap and water, but with a baby in the house and a pre-schooler picking up nursery bugs I’m using more and more antiseptic spray, bleach and the timeless Dettol, which was a staple in our home growing up.

The classic Dettol smell is reminiscent of school corridors but I’m happy to say they’ve got a range of different scents now. I use the Dettol liquid already and was recently sent some Dettol Power and Fresh Multi-purpose Spray, Dettol Power and Pure Bathroom Wipes, Dettol No-Touch Antibacterial Hand Wash with E45 Softness and Dettol Antibacterial Surface Cleanser to review. So it’s safe to say my home is pretty clean at the moment!

I was impressed with the products. The most convenient were the wipes, which came in a nice large pack (I hate thin packs of any kind of wipes which seem to run out within days). I found myself reaching for them quite a bit. But I am also conscious they’re not as environmentally friendly as some products.

I also really liked the No-Touch Antibacterial Hand Wash which is now a permanent fixture next to our kitchen sink. As you just need to wave your hand in front of the sensor it’s very easy to use even with messy hands and it really does get rid of lasting food smells like onion, which is great. It didn’t leave my dry hands as soft as some other hand washes, though.

The sprays were good – I found the kitchen one slightly better than bathroom as I found the bathroom one dries more quickly. But both do the job.

So all in all a good way to a cleaner, more hygienic household and I’m happy to report that there are no lingering school corridor smells.

Thanks to Dettol. I tried the Dettol Power and Fresh Multi-purpose Spray (Crisp Linen and Aqua Sky), Dettol Power and Pure Bathroom Wipes, Dettol No-Touch Antibacterial Hand Wash with E45 Softness and Dettol Antibacterial Surface Cleanser.
