Win an extra special dinner date

14570698_1794279780788117_8328664318184775630_oI’m feeling slightly jaded tonight after a meal out for my husband’s birthday yesterday. We went to the fantastic Hudson Steak House in Bath – as a veggie this was a sacrifice for my husband! Luckily I found my food delicious and imaginative – sweetcorn fritters and a side of french fries with truffle and parmesan. Yum. And apparently the steak was rather good, too.

Nights out are few and far between so it’s nice to organise something extra special. With Georgian architecture, like our new hometown of Bath, Grade I listed Moggerhanger Park is just that. It’s a beautiful country house hotel set in over 30 acres in rural Bedfordshire.

If you fancy sampling something a little special there’s the chance to win a meal for two and wine at Moggerhanger’s restaurant simply by liking and sharing their post. Simple.

They’ve also got a reputation as a lovely wedding venue so worth a peek.

This is a collaborative post with Moggerhanger Park.

Are you going to the Baby & Toddler Show? Win a pair of free tickets…

Baby & Toddler Show Win

New school…new season…new baby? Not for me! But if you have a new little one or one on the way have you considered visiting the Baby & Toddler Show? It’s the biggest of its kind and it’s returning to Sandown Park, Surrey, on 23-25 September.

We’ve been twice and have come back with some really useful things – like my Mia Tui changing bag, which I love, and my Ergo 360 baby sling. It’s also a very child-friendly day out. Baby Scrip loved playing with toys in one of the baby areas and toddler Scrip went in her first ever creche there (and loved it).

If you fancy winning a free pair of tickets, the giveaway is below. And for everyone else, save 1/3 on tickets by using the code BTS34 online.

So what can you expect there?

* Really good deals on top brands and baby essentials – 100s of unique and useful products which you won’t find on the high street (I can vouch for that).

* Guaranteed best prices on car seats, prams, buggies and furniture – all the big names including Bugaboo, Britax, Mamas & Papas, Maxi-Cosi, Quinny, Silver Cross, Cosatto, Bloom, Cybex and Joolz.

* Over 150 top brands and products to test, try, compare and buy – meet knowledgeable experts and have hands-on demos.

* Expert speakers giving new parents everything they need to know on feeding and weaning, babywearing, first aid and sleep.

* The RLSS UK Baby Academy and a free first aid taster session to learn vital first aid skills.

* Piccolo, the new organic baby food brand inspired by the Med lifestyle – visit the stand to try all the products and talk to Piccolo’s team of nutrition experts about all things weaning, food and nutrition. Plus, hear from Piccolo’s infant nutritionist, Alice Fotheringham at the Expert Advice Workshops.

Sandown Park is easy to get to, there is free parking, easy access for bumps and babies, and a huge Vital Baby Feeding Area and Baby Changing Area.

Win tickets to the Baby & Toddler Show (and 1/3 off for everyone)

Baby & Toddler Show Win

Tomorrow is a year on from Baby D’s due date. He actually kept me waiting 12 more days but this time last year anticipation was building. Now I can barely believe I’m almost a mother to a toddler.

There’s been a lot of Googling first birthday presents and trying to find things we don’t have already courtesy of his older sister. Also things he’ll enjoy but won’t be quickly taken off him (no guarantees there). We’ve only bought some board books so far but we’re still researching.

To find anything and everything you can possibly want or need for your baby or toddler, the Baby & Toddler Show is the place to go. It’s in Sandown Park in Surrey from 15th April (which happens to be D’s first birthday!) to 17th April.

We’ve been to the Baby Show twice and, although I wasn’t sure I’d enjoy it it was a fab day out – packed with so much to see, do and play with and lots of pushchair miles to push around (good for ensuring a long nap afterwards!) We got some great deals on products like our Ergo baby carrier and Mia Tui changing bag, and there were some useful talks and goodies.

This one is the biggest of its kind and Sandown Park is really easy to get to, with free parking, easy access for bumps and babies, and a huge Vital Baby Feeding Area and Baby Changing Area. Here’s what you can expect:

* Money saving with deals on baby essentials – 100s of unique and useful products which you won’t find on the high street

* Guaranteed best prices on car seats, prams, buggies and furniture – find all the big name brands in one place including Bugaboo, Britax, Mamas & Papas, Maxi-Cosi, Quinny, Silver Cross, Cosatto, Bloom, Cybex, Joolz…

* Over 150 top brands and products to test, try, compare and buy – meet knowledgeable experts and have hands-on demos to find the right products for you

* Hear from expert speakers giving new parents everything they need to know on sleeping, feeding, budgeting, first aid and more

* Plus – all mums-to-be and new mums will receive a goody bag which includes nappies, cream, wipes, cosmetics and more.

To win a pair of tickets for any day of the show, just enter via Rafflecopter below.

Or to save 1/3 on tickets go to www.babyandtoddlershow.co.uk and quote code SBT23 – adult tickets £8.

All tickets with a promotional code MUST be booked online ahead of the show. The online box office will close at midnight Thursday 14th April.

Home overhaul and win a pair of Ideal Home Show tickets

Ideal Home Show winOur new home makeover is really more of a maintenance job at the moment – we seem to have come across electrics, heating and plumbing issues, and that’s just what we’ve discovered so far. So the extension’s on hold…

But we have managed to make some rooms into our own over the last few weeks and it’s getting more like the family home I envisaged. I love the fact Scrip and Baby D have their own, decent-sized bedrooms they can play in and enjoy.

Whether you’re updating your home, are a keen DIY-er, or just like a bit of window shopping, the Ideal Home Show could be just the place to get some inspiration. Held at the Olympia London with over 650 exhibitors, the latest household gadgets and styling, it’s just about the biggest house and garden showcase you could hope to browse.

The Ideal Home Show runs from 18th March – 3rd April and I’ve teamed up with one of their sponsors, Plumbs Reupholstery, to offer the chance to win two free tickets.

If you haven’t heard of Plumbs, they reupholster furniture, returning it to its former glory (much cheaper than buying new and you can make it your own, with over 800 fabrics to choose from).

What home improvements are you planning? If you’re dreaming of overhauling your own, like me, and you’d like the the chance to win the tickets, you can enter through the Rafflecopter widget below. Good luck!

Win a pre-Christmas essentials pack

Win pre-Christmas Essentials

********And the winner is…. KP Borowy from Bolton. Congratulations and enjoy! Thank you to everyone who entered**********

I was asked in Clarks this week if I’ve finished my Christmas shopping. Finished? It’s barely December… I’ve hardly started. I’m obviously still a rookie parent but I’m actually pleased that I’ve at least bought one or two presents and have a growing iPhone notes page of ideas.

So as I fight my way through the crowds on Christmas Eve, I know I will appreciate a little extra help. If you’re at all like me, although I can’t provide a handy gift-wrapping elf, I can offer you the chance to win a few essentials to help your run up to Christmas go a little more smoothly.

Here’s what the prize includes:

The forgotten present: Mosaic Baylis & Harding Sweet Mandarin & Grapefruit Weekend Bag Gift Set
There’s always one… It’s nice to have a present in reserve (or even a little gift for you) stored away in your wardrobe. This gift bag is packed full of bath creme, shower gel, body wash, bath milk, body butter, hand & nail cream and body polisher. And the weekend bag it comes in with gold purse attached is stylish and useful.

For a silent-ish night: Lavender Essential Oil
If the stress of preparing for the big day means you can’t switch off, how about an essential oil to aid relaxation? Add a couple of drops to your pre-bedtime bath (well, you can dream). Lavender Pure Essential Oil £11.39 is also available from Holland & Barrett Stores and online.

For an energy boost: Emergen-C Vitamin C sachets
A cold before Christmas? Just what you don’t need. Emergen-C offers a double hit of energy release and immunity support in handy fast dissolving, wallet-sized sachets. Packing 1000mg of Vitamin C to support the immune system’s normal function and 6 B vitamins for energy release Emergenc-C costs £4.99 for a pack of 8 and is available from Boots stores nationwide.

For a health-conscious Father Christmas: Mince pies without the gluten
Available at Holland & Barrett for £2.89 for a pack of 4, Lovemore’s Gluten Free Mince Pies don’t sacrifice any of the flavour. Made with shortcrust pastry and deep-filled with mincemeat, they also contain no artificial colours or flavours.

For when the hard work is done: An Organic Midnight Mud Mask
You deserve a little me-time at Christmas. This Dr. Organic Dead Sea Mineral Bio-Plasma Mud Mask should help. Competition: win a copy of It’s All About Mimi

Mimi baby cartoonIf there’s one thing we all need a bit more of in dreary January, it’s laughter. Based on Denise Dorrance’s brilliant cartoons – as seen in Red, The Sunday Times and the Mail on Sunday – It’s All About Mimi is a handbag-sized (Chanel Black Coco, obviously) book of more than 100 sharp and brilliantly observed cartoons based on a die-hard fashionista and life with her new baby.

I definitely had a few people in mind when I looked through this (without naming any names) – particularly someone whose greatest fear is losing her sunglasses, whose favourite shop is ‘Bond Street’ and whose motto is “Less is more, unless we’re talking about champagne”.

It’s brilliantly entertaining and looks as stylishly simple as Mimi herself. Sporting a burnt orange cover, It’s All About Mimi would be the perfect addition to any home (or handbag) and a great gift for the woman who has everything. And it’s yours to win.

To enter, please leave a comment below saying why It’s All About Mimi would be the perfect addition to your Spring/Summer 2014 bookshelf. And for an extra entry, follow me on Twitter and retweet the competition Tweet. Closes on Friday 7th February 2014.

Good luck (dahr-ling) x
